I’m not sure how much this training exercise is BUT I’m guessing around $in fuel each time. Just guessing 4 engines. If Jet A costs $6.36 per gallons and the aircraft holds 35,546. So if 6.36X35,546=$226,700.56 But since that’s fueling it up from 0. I’m guessing they burn about 1-2 tons (2-4k lbs). $12,720 - $25,440 per engine.

Why don't they move like the when we're doing airborne ops

For their size and ability. Why are there no civilan\commercail version? In the civilian world only little airplabes can get to say bush communities in Alaska. But a C17 can get to the same place and bring in a lot more. 🤷🏾‍♂️
